My Earning Journey
Friday, July 24, 2009
I remembered about nine years ago, I worked as a cashier at a department store. It was actually my first real job. It lasted just about 3 months because I was still an undergraduate student.
Anyway, I was really happy with my job. Though it was really tiring, I was very enthusiastic every time payday comes. I get to earn an income from a decent job. It was also the first time for me to learn using a cash register, barcode scanner and even process credit cards using POS terminals or by manually calling companies.
After my contract ended, I went back to school. Then after I graduated, I applied as a sales lady at another department store that was newly opened in town. When I was about to be promoted into a regular employee, I got pregnant with my second child. So the company did not approve my regularization. Then 11 months later, after giving birth, I was gainfully employed by a direct selling company wherein I was promoted three times with my three years stay with them.
Eventually, I resigned and became a stay-at-home mommy. Though I am at home, I am still earning a meager amount online. Not that big but enough to make ends meet.
That is my journey…how about you?
